Aquatic First Aid Courses

Aquatic First Aid Courses from Rockmonkey Outdoor Pursuits

The 8 hour Aquatic First Aid course covers some additional topics related to watersports,  (in particular kayaking and canoeing) as well as all the same topics covered by the shorter emergency first aid at work course. The syllabus is at least as comprehensive as courses provided by the BCU:

  • Emergency Procedure (the ABCs of first aid)
  • CPR and mouth to mouth resuscitation.
  • Drowning and immersion related injuries.
  • Hypothermia
  • Casualty handling, protecting the spine, and the recovery position
  • Additional problems in treating cold and wet casualties.
The successful participants (which we expect will be everybody!) will receive an "Aquatic first aid course (level 1)" certificate,  accredited Active Aid.
