We have a strong background in providing water safety to kayaking events and are delighted to be working with the Friends of Durham Uni Canoe Club to provide safety cover for the BUCS Canoe Slalom and BUCS Wildwater Race.

All our safety teams are trained (as a minimum requirement) in the following:

• Whitewater safety & rescue
• Emergency outdoor first aid

Many of our safety partners also draw on vast experience in other disciplines such as raft-guiding, beach lifeguarding and many are qualified in swiftwater rescue and wilderness medical techniques.

We are working with Friends of Durham University Canoe Club to provide the safety framework for the BUCS Wildwater Race on the River Washburn in North Yorkshire. We are on the lookout for willing safety volunteers (with white-water safety and rescue experience) as well as people to act as spotters / runners for the event.
