First Aid Courses
Run over the course of a weekend, these first aid courses are suitable for both instructors needing to keep their NGB qualifications valid, as well as anyone else with an interest in providing emergency First Aid. The courses are primarily aimed at instructors and activity leaders, whether scouts, guides, families, or commercial organisation. Our course aims to give you the real-world skills you may need during outdoor pursuits; As well as the key techniques listed below, each course will include plenty of simulated first aid incidents for you to practice your skills in the real world, and see how they hold up away from the classroom floor!
Training includes:
- The "ABC"s of first aid
- CPR
- Casualty Handling
- Splints, breaks, traumas
- Asthma, Angina, Heart Attack
- Diabetes
- Plenty of Scenarios!
These 16 hour first aid courses meet the requirements of the national governing bodies for outdoor pursuits instructors:
- Mountain Leader Training Board
- Single Pitch Award
- BCU Coaching Awards
- RYA Instructor
- British Orienteering Federation, etc...
This course is overseen by Pete Cunningham, who has ten years experience in first aid training, outdoor pursuits and mountain rescue teams behind him. Pete has previously trained both British Mountain guides and the Association of Mountaineering Instructors.
What's included?
First Aid Courses take place on the banks of Lake Windemere. Bunk house accomodation is included in the price.
The cost is £150 including accomodation. Discounts are available for Students, Group Bookings, MLTUK etc.
No previous experience is required, and no prior knowledge is assumed.
